Honoring the Life of Edith Krieg

Our family is heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved mother, Edith Dorothy Krieg (Brug) of Cincinnati, Ohio, who passed away peacefully at the tender age of 104 on June 12, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of strength, love, and fierce independence. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Erv (Erwin), and her precious grandchildren angels Kyle Krieg and Amy Krieg, wife of Mark.

Edith was a remarkably hard-working woman who took immense pride in taking care of her home and her family. Whether she was out cutting the grass on a sunny afternoon or managing the daily hustle of the printing company (Lee Corp) and life, she did it with self-reliance that inspired everyone around her. Her sharpness and wit never left her as she brought warmth and brightness wherever she went—fitting for a woman whose favorite color was yellow.

Above all, Edith loved her family deeply. She was happiest when surrounded by her children and grandchildren, especially if there was a deck of playing cards or a puzzle on the table. A sharp card player and a joy to be around, her laughter and spirit will be missed at every future family gathering.

She is survived by her loving children, Ron and Karen (Cook) Krieg, Tom and Carol (Thueneman) Krieg, Kathy and Steve Faigle and Lee and Pam (Gindele) Krieg; her devoted grandchildren, Jaylene and Tom Schaefer, Julie Faigle and Kent Johncox, Kelly and Jamie Buchheit, Becki Krieg and Lester Santos, Kevin and Erin Krieg, Matthew Faigle, Mark Krieg, Natalie and Mike Winkler, Benjamin Krieg; Her cherished great-grandchildren Chloe and Steven Ablett, Simon and Sydney Schaefer, Tyler Hague, Madeline Buchheit, Rylie Hague, Harrison Buchheit, Aubrey Faigle, Cooper Krieg, Chase Faigle, Kensey Krieg, Charlie East, Nolan Winkler, Callum Winkler and a treasured great-great grandson, Thomas, and a host of extended family and dear friends.
